”Be water, my friend” said Bruce Lee once. This sentence has always fascinated me. What did he mean by this? As a visual artist, I sought to find an answer. I wanted to experience water and ‘be water’ day by day. Where do I find water in me and around me? How do I feel when I’m (in) water? How does water shape me? And how can I shape water? What is it like to be water? Do we have shared memories? Do we connect or just run through things? Does water have a personality? I tried to find answers to all these questions through everyday encounters, sprinkled with verse. When a painter takes photographs… As part of this project I have started a Tumblr site to share my snapshots and poetry: www.waterandi.tumblr.com

Cleaning through my pores I kneel down and into water I disappear
Immersing into the well of my feelings
Facing the truth in the mirror of my palm
