My first creation @arc.residency is a painting, inspired by the inner landscapes of carved rock shelters, with its composition and colors influenced by traditional Turkish miniature paintings. The central focus is a plant called mullein (Verbascum sinaiticum), which caught my attention during my exploration of the residency area. I spotted this magnificent plant standing solitary in the desert, regal and powerful—a true queen of its environment. In my painting, it transforms into a symbol of wonder. This piece measures 120×150 cm and is created with acrylics, grained local tuff and soft pastels on canvas.
